Frankie’s garden

In the course of 2019, we decided to look for a new collaboration to produce our sunglasses. We were introduced to Frankie, the owner of a Chinese factory, untraceable on the World Wide Web.

When we first met Frankie, he welcomed us into his factory with a statement that resonated deeply: ‘My factory is like a garden. The materials, the tools, the sunglasses — we tend to them with care, just like plants’.

Frankie isn’t just a factory owner; he’s a true craftsman who embodies precision, responsibility, and respect. Nestled in the heart of China, his factory is more than just a workplace—it’s a community. With 95% of his employees living locally, many spanning multiple generations, Frankie has cultivated an environment built on fairness and pride.

This partnership redefines the meaning of “Made in China.” For us, it’s a testament to artistry, transparency, and shared values. Every GOBI frame tells a story—a story of meticulous craftsmanship and a commitment to excellence. From sourcing premium-quality acetates from renowned manufacturers in Italy and China to crafting lenses with advanced coatings for superior eye protection and clarity, every detail reflects the dedication of Frankie and his team.
